Gumbo Limbo Pottery is a pottery gallery and studio in Kendall offering classes on the potter's wheel or in hand building. We have kids clay classes and adult classes scheduled during the day and in the evenings. Groups, couples, or individuals welcome and can be scheduled at your convenience. You can also shop for local, handmade ceramic art in our gallery featuring work from 6 Miami artists specializing in stoneware, porcelain, raku, earthenware, and more.

Dog Sculpting Workshop with Puchi Noriega Saturday, January 12th, 2025 | 10 AM - 4 PM

Join us at Gumbo Limbo Pottery for a special one-day workshop focused on capturing the charm and character of our four-legged friends in clay. Renowned ceramic artist Puchi Noriega will guide you through the fundamentals of animal sculpture, with a specific focus on dogs.

Throughout this hands-on workshop, you'll learn:

  • Essential techniques for building solid and hollow forms

  • How to capture canine anatomy and proportions

  • Methods for creating realistic textures for fur and features

  • Tips for expressing personality and movement in your sculpture

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced potter, Puchi will provide personalized guidance to help you create your own unique dog sculpture. Students are encouraged to bring photos of their favorite dogs for inspiration.

All materials and tools will be provided, along with light refreshments. Your piece will be fired and available for pickup two weeks after the workshop. Students who wish to glaze their sculptures can arrange to come in at a date TBD to for a charge of $20.
