Gumbo Limbo Pottery is a pottery gallery and studio in Kendall offering classes on the potter's wheel or in hand building. We have kids clay classes and adult classes scheduled during the day and in the evenings. Groups, couples, or individuals welcome and can be scheduled at your convenience. You can also shop for local, handmade ceramic art in our gallery featuring work from 6 Miami artists specializing in stoneware, porcelain, raku, earthenware, and more.

A New Chapter in Your Pottery Journey

We're thrilled to introduce our Monthly Open Studio Membership program, designed for passionate potters ready to spread their creative wings! This flexible membership option gives intermediate and advanced ceramicists the freedom to work independently while still having access to our supportive community and beautiful studio space.

Is This Membership Right for You?

Our Open Studio Membership is perfect for dedicated potters (ages 18 and older) who have completed at least three 6-week sessions at Gumbo Limbo Pottery (or have equivalent experience elsewhere) and feel confident working independently. If you're ready to develop your own creative practice while still having access to expert guidance when needed, this program is designed with you in mind.

Membership Benefits

Transform our studio into your creative home with these exclusive benefits:

  • Flexible Studio Access

    • Tuesdays: 4 PM - 9 PM

    • Fridays: 10 AM - 3 PM

    • Sundays: 4 PM - 9 PM

  • Materials & Storage

    • One complimentary 25lb bag of clay monthly (including firing and glazing)

    • Your personal dedicated shelf space to store your belongings

    • Additional clay available for purchase at $50/bag, including firing and glazing

  • Expert Support

    • Access to Maite or Stacey during studio hours for questions and guidance

    • Work independently while knowing help is always nearby

Monthly Dues

Your membership is $175 per month. Start at any time and you'll be automatically charged each month. Come as often as you like during designated hours to make the most of your creative time!

Membership Guidelines

To ensure the best experience for all our members, we maintain the following policies:

  • Membership Pauses

    • Need a short break? Provide two weeks' notice to pause for one month

    • During a one-month pause, your shelf space remains yours

    • For longer breaks, membership must be cancelled with shelf space cleared

    • Re-enrollment subject to studio space availability

  • Studio Policies

    • For quality and safety, outside clay or glazes require explicit approval

    • No make-up sessions or pro-rated months available

    • Members work independently during open studio hours

    • Though you are free to visit as many times as you like during your membership, access to equipment is on a first-come-first serve basis
